View the Taj Mahal by Moonlight

The Taj Mahal is considered one of the most romantic monuments in the world. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan after the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this white marble mausoleum is considered a monument to eternal love. When can the Taj Mahal be seen by Moonlight? A total of 400 tourists are permitted to see the Taj Mahal, on or around moonlit nights, on five specific nights in a month. These nights are the full moon night itself and the two nights before and after the full moon night. To help you book in advance and avoid disappointment, SUMMIT-Alpcord Network the official Event Organizer provides a list of full moon nights near to the conference dates. You can plan your trip beforehand, so you won't miss this eagerly awaited sight.

Lovers from across the world, flock to see this architectural marvel and admire its radiant beauty. The white marble surface of the Taj Mahal changes its appearance with the passing of the seasons. It glows brightly in the sunlight in summer and reflects the grey-clouded sky during the monsoon. Under the light of the full moon however, the Taj Mahal is said to appear at its best - shimmering like a fairytale castle built for a legendary princess. Tourists are now permitted to view the Taj Mahal by moonlight.

Entrance Fees to visit the Taj Mahal :-
The entrance tickets presently are as follows: (Entrance fees is including of service charge)
  Delegate Adult : Children : 3 to 15 years
  Foreigners INR 1000/- INR 750/-
  Indians INR 750/- INR 750/-
  • The tickets are issued ONLY ONE DAY in advance from ASI, Agra office. There is NO same day issue of tickets. The timings for ticket purchase are 1100 to 1700 hours one day before.
  • The tickets are computer printed individually with full details of the guests and are non transferable.
  • ASI needs following details in advance on the application form for ALL Foreign guests and same can be deposited thru representatives also.
    Name, Sex, Passport Number, Age, Nationality
    For Indians need age / address and full names for all guests
  • ASI shall allot tickets for any batch as per availability. The tickets are issued from the first batch onwards.
  • The guests shall have to reach at Shilpgram parking on their own 30 minutes before and then they shall be taken in the batches of 50 persons per group by police escort in battery van and back.
  • The guests are permitted for 30 minutes only inside Tajmahal and entry is ONLY till first Red Sandstone platform at the entrance gate.
  • Video cameras / hand bags are not permitted. Only still camera and binoculars are permitted without any extra charge.
  • The timings are 2030 to 2400 hours. Eight batches of 50 persons. Total 400 visitors per day.
  • Guides are not allowed and if required separate full ticket as applicable to Indians ( Rs 750/- ) shall have to be purchased.
Hotel Accommodation: -
We can book your hotel accommodation from all budget category to 5 star deluxe luxury. Since February/March is a peak tourist season at Agra so we request you to kindly put forward us the enquiry in order to block hotel accommodation & other arrangements on a confirmed basis.

Transportation:-
Taj Mahal at Agra is at a distance of 205 kms. Aprox 4-5 hrs drive from Delhi. We can arrange all cars from small to large Deluxe category as per the requirements.
