Welcome to Delhi


Welcome to Delhi – the capital of India for the combined conference. The event marks a new and important step in scientific progress and cooperation in the region. It will showcase the achievements of the region. The scientific programme has been well thought out and includes a preconference video session on how to do various procedures from experts in the area. A CME program put together with the American Association of Thoracic Surgery will bring new technology, techniques and results in all areas of cardio thoracic and vascular surgery. The scientific program spread over two days in three different halls will be the best forum to submit your most important and best clinical and research papers. A spouse / accompanying person program will take you through the art and culture attractions in and around Delhi. There are important tourist spots to visit before and after the conference, with the special attraction of viewing the Taj Mahal by moonlight. Prepare yourself in advance for this scientific feast. The organizing committee welcomes you and promises traditional Indian hospitality and good scientific deliberation.
 
Weather

Delhi situated at 225 m above the sea level. The capital city experiences an extreme continental climate due to the fact that it is far away from the sea. Weather in Delhi varies with the five seasons- summers, monsoon, autumns, winter and spring. Summers are long and stretch from April to October. The monsoon rains start with the advent of July that last till August. The best visiting time of Delhi is between October and February. November is a pleasant time in Delhi. The temperature would range from 10-20º C & woolen clothing is suggested for the dawn and dusk hours.
 
Airport

Delhi is well connected to all major cities of the world. The recently renovated international airport ‘Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport’ is situated in the southwestern corner of Delhi. Good Transport facilities are available at the airport.
 
Currency and Credit Cards
The currency of India is Rupee (INR). The approximate present conversion rate is: 1 US$ = 50 INR. Almost all the world's popularly used credit cards like Visa, Master Card and Amex are accepted in the major city of India including Delhi.
 
Banking and Exchange Facilities

Facilities for banking, exchange of foreign currency are available at International airports, at banks and also at several prestigious hotels.

ATMs available at all hotels.

Visa

Visa has to be obtained from the Indian Embassy abroad. Delegates should possess a valid National Passport. If required, an Invitation letter can be issued which should be presented to the Indian Embassy to obtain the visa. Please apply before 6 week.
 
Electric Current
